Collaborative Video: The Cure for Sticker Shock

Video ParntershipA good marketing video is worth its weight in gold.  If properly produced the video can generate a lot of profitable business but some smaller businesses might not have the resources to cover the production cost.  Partnering on a marketing video with 2 or 3 businesses in complimentary industries is a great way to spread the cost and realize some powerful additional benefits.

A real estate agent could collaborate with a mortgage specialist and a home inspector to produce a video that markets all 3 businesses.  The 3 partners could facilitate and tape a 45 minute seminar positioned as, “everything you need to know about buying a home”. Each partner would do a 15 minute presentation covering their area of expertise.  Each 15 minute segment would start with a 1 minute overview of the presenter’s business explaining their business’s value proposition and displaying contact information (web, phone, etc) as a graphic on screen.

This approach to video production not only spreads the development cost among the various partners but it has the added benefit of exponentially expanding the viewing audience.  Each time a partner shows the video the other consortium member businesses get promoted in kind.  If a single partner can hypothetically reach 5000 prospects and the other 2 partners match this volume, the total audience is increased to 15,000.

The net result is a professionally produced promotional product that generates triple the exposure at 1/3 the cost.  I am hard pressed to think of a more economical way to attract new business.
