So I Have a Marketing Video, Now What?
Even the best marketing video won’t help your business without a plan to get the video in front of the right people. We recently created a marketing video for client One Supply Chain Solutions Internationale (watch video below) and Principal, Eric Lewis wanted some suggestions on ways to use his new media. Instead of delivering my suggestions to Eric directly; I decided to post them to the blog in hopes of helping others in the same position.

Video Distribution Options - Short List

- Add the video to your website
- Add a link to your video in your signature file
- Use your video as a continuously looping promo at trade shows
- Give card sized CD-ROMs containing your video as referral tools for the influencers in your network to distribute (fellow board members, fellow networking club members, your accountant, your lawyer, your doctor, anyone in a position to spread the word about your business).
- Play a video loop in the lobby of your office and in the lobbies of other businesses you have strong relationships with.
- Add the video to your iPOD, multimedia capable cell phone or other portable device to create a walking version of your marketing message.
- If you deliver public speaches, have the event organizers play your video as part of their introduction of you.
- If you have a profile setup on a member-organization website, ask the web administrator to embed your video on the page or at a minimum, provide a direct link to the video.
- Add your video to video content sites like YouTube, Google Video, BlipTV and others. You never know who might stumble upon it.
- If you sponsor events that feature display multimedia (especially banquets and galas), ask the organizers if your video can be played as part of your sponsorship package.
- Create a referral email template featuring as part of the content, a link to your video and have those in your network send a personalized referral email to those they feel might serve as good prospects for your services. Good candidates include satisfied customers, fellow board members, business partners, friends, family, anyone who can refer your business.
- If you write articles for media publications as part of your marketing strategy, add a URL link to your video in the byline of your articles.
- If you distribute an electronic newsletter, add a “watch our video” link in a prominent spot within the publication.
